2007 Gibson Les Paul Studio

This guitar is a great example of everything I've said about the Les Paul Studio: This model contains all the ingredients to provide the Les Paul sound at half the price, making it the best value in the line. Gibson basically took a page from Paul Reed Smith and eliminated some of the more labor-intensive building processes, leaving a great workhorse instrument as the result. Every once in a while Gibson has a moderately flamey maple top set that need a home. Sometimes that top set finds its way onto an LP studio like this, making the guitar interesting to look at as well as fun to play. This particular guitar is light, sweet, airy, and bright when it needs to be but can fill out easily enough when you want it to. It is probably chambered, and tips the scale at a mere 7lbs 6oz. Here are the dealer's photos:

I bought this guitar used from an eBay dealer based on these great pics. When it arrived, much to my surprise, I got the back story on the guitar: it needed some major attention for damage to its clear coat that was hidden in the pics. Frankly, the clearcoat was pretty much devastated. To that end, I dusted off my old refurbishment skills and was able bring it back to life. A new pickguard finished off the face lift and the guitar look very nearly new. You can read about it HERE.
