HRMINIs the Pungo Strawberry Festival Parade: On the Route

Right around 11:05, the HRMINIs moved out from the marshalling area, took the right turn off the base...

and joined the parade.

After running about a quarter mile of pre-parade road lined with families, we made the left turn onto the main parade route.

Let's switch over to Aprilwhine for a couple of pictures from the main parade route.

This must have been BBQ row. Wood Chick's BBQ is in the tent in the center.

Thanks for the pics, Sherry!

And here is the reverse angle as we approach the reviewing stand, shot by Mike (dark06mcs):

I suppose it should be mentioned here that HRMINIS formed the longest segment of the parade, occupying nearly a quarter-mile of road while on the route. Because we threw beads and candy to the kids in the crowd, we were also one of the most interactive and popular groups.

Towards the end of the route, the crowds thinned.

Ladies, can you imagine wearing THIS dress in the heat?

At the end of the route, we were diverted to a quick exit route
and treated to a little backroads micro-run as we left the festival area.
